It's All About Overland Adventure

Horizons Unlimited meetings are for everyone who dreams of adventure along the road less travelled.

Horizons Unlimited Montenegro Event Schedule

The Plan

Our plan is very simple. We will wait for your arrival on Thursday and you will be a part of our story for the next three days! Share your experiences with other participants, learn something from them or you teach them, take a ride thru unspoiled nature.

Presentations will start on Thursday afternoon, continue on Friday and Saturday during the whole day. For those who want to get in touch with our beautiful and unspoiled nature we can suggest some routes (gravel and paved) which we planned for Friday and Saturday. After Saturday barbecue, on Sunday morning everybody goes in their own direction. Some will go back home, and some who knows, maybe will continue further after getting some great ideas during the meeting.

Unknown Paths in Montenegro - a Photo Story

My Photo Story will be representation of wild mountains and lakes in Montenegro. You will have a chance to see some unknown paths and trail from our mountains. Also interesting geographical data will be included.

Ivan Drobnjak.

During the working hours I run operations and finances for one department in super yacht marina Porto Montenegro, but in every second of free time I'm trying to explore unknown off road mountain trails and paths...

Ivan Drobnjak.

Since enduro rides became my passion, I have founded motorbike guided agency in Montenegro, with friend of mine.

Like all of us, my first ride was on brothers Tomos automatic, and that was an awesome feeling. Many years after I bought my first motorbike. It was an Aprilia rs 125 sport bike, not long after that, the same brother came up with two cross motorbikes on the trail… and from that moment the way I look at two wheels is completely changed... Do I have to mention that despite faults of the first bike (no brakes, no power, no el starter, air filter...) it was love at the first ride. That 81 honda xl250 is still in my garage.

We Support Dreams (Our Family Motto) - 4 month motorcycle trip from California to a project in Tirana, Albania

This is primarily a slide show but the photos serve as a backdrop to the stories and insights that come from 30,000 Kilometers of solo travel across the US from California to Portland, ME to Iceland via container ship and on to Scandinavia and through Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania, Poland, Ukraine, Romania, Bulgaria, Turkey, Greece to Albania.

Ron Collier.

As a passionate traveler and overlander, I've had a love affair with vagabonding for as long as I can remember. Highlights include Boston to Alaska via a '77 Bronco right out of college - a year-long around the world trip with my wife and two boys in '07/'08, and my four month trip last fall from my home in California to Iceland via container ship and on through Scandinavia, the Baltic countries, eastern Europe and Ukraine into Turkey, Greece, and finally to Albania. I feel very lucky to be able to travel as much as I do but I've learned when something is so important to you, you find every way possible to make it happen.

Utrecht - New York - Our 3 month trip - covering the travel, the route, equipment, and all the groovy people we met

In late 2012, my wife and I decided to make a long trip with two motorcycles. We (1) did not have any motorcycles for this trip and (2) my wife did not know how to drive one.

The presentation details our preparation for the trip, choosing of the route, careful planning that goes into this type of a trip - and the beautiful opposite reality of the execution of the trip itself.

Marko & Maja Calasan.

Born and raised in Montenegro, I got the "adventure" travel bug some 6 years ago. In that time, I drove my bike through most of Western and Central Europe, and in 2013, I completed a 3 month trip through Asia and the US.

Djordje Markovic.

Djordje Markovic (Montenegro)

Central and Western Europe

Life is made out of moments, lots of them are lost through time but some of them end up sticking with you. I try to make mine count. I try to make 'em stick and that's where motorcycle comes in. So many of my memorable memories are one way or the other linked with motorcycles. From young age stealing another lap on little Honda, through my teenage years trying to impress girls on the scooter, until now, exploring different places and meeting amazing people on my tourer. Not all memories are pleasant ones, but the great ones outweigh not so great ones by far and that makes me coming back.

Djordje Markovic.

Most of my tours were through Central and Western Europe. I did own a bike while I lived in US, but did not get to explore with it nearly as much as I would like I did. The good thing is that with every trip I keep extending my boundaries and I intend keep doing it as much as I can.

New overland adventures from Montenegro to Iran

After 5 continents, 300.000 km, over 100 states on my BMW GSA1200 my life was not the same anymore. Adventure is the way how I want to live in the future.Traveling on two wheels have lot of advantages, but cold winters, rainy days, winds, heats make me realize that I want to do it little bit different.

I started one project Y61 GSA. I bought Nissan Patrol and rebuild it so I can reach every place on the earth (increase fuel tank, winch that can carry 9 tons, air compressor, inverter, dual battery system, iroman lift kit, special tires, led lights,…).

Zeljan Rakela's new project!

Four member crew traveled for 10 months and ride 12.000 km thru 12 countries (farthest point was Ihafan in Iran).

Zeljan is an adventure rider from Split, Croatia. From 2006 he has been continuously traveling on his BMW GSA. He has done over 305.000 kilometres, thru 5 continents and over 100 states.

Marija Zivkovic.

Marija Zivkovic (Montenegro)

Ireland and Scotland

I don't ride a bike and I even don't want to try that. I am totally satisfied as passenger on a bike.

Marija Zivkovic.

I will try to share with you my impressions of one-month Ireland and Scotland trip.

Jan Krasny.

Jan Krasny (Czech Republic)

Guyana

As a member of US Embassy, Jan's job is to travel all the time. He spent two years in Guyana and he participated in lot of safaris. Now he will share that experience with us.

Horizons Unlimited Montenegro 2015 Ride-outs

If you don't want to participate on daily presentation we have prepared some ride-outs for you. All rides have been prepared so that you see how beautiful nature is in Montenegro (lakes, rivers, mountain peaks...) We prepared five different routes with different levels of difficulties. Every ride (if it's interesting for participants) will start in the morning so they can be finished before start of first afternoon presentation. Of course we do have guides for these rides, but if somebody wants to go alone, we will provide them with maps and route information. If you want, camp owners can arrange some lunch packets for these rides (€10 euros per person).
