Travelling solo for more than 33,000 miles on a motorcycle taught Annette Birkmann to experience the unknown not as fraught with danger but as...
A Bit About Us: Stefan (Dutch) and Marie (Filipino) met in Bangkok, Thailand about 7 years ago. We fell in love, opened a successful fitness business and got married all in the same year!
6 years, 1 cat and 2 thriving fitness studios later we decided to sell it all and follow our dream to travel around the world on our motorbike (BMW GSA 1200 Triple Black)
Our journey started on the 3rd of June 2017 from Den Haag, Netherlands and we have been on the road ever since.
We might take a couple of stops to visit home (Den Haag) to cuddle our adorable cat, Nikita, and for important events like Christmas and such while we are in Europe but 90% of the time we are traveling 300-800km a day to reach a new destination.
Plan for 2018 is riding the length and breath of the Americas! Visit our blog and stay updated...
blog with descriptions and advice of motorcycle tours in the deep Portugal and Spain; usualy shorts trips (2 /4 days) held by the autor in a BMW1200adv or held by his gests. Very very nice landscaps with a lot of photos and roadbooks.
Rode 'round the world with Kudu Expeditions. Pretty much followed Ewan and Charlie's route, but went 'under' Ukraine and Kazakhstan through Romania, Bulgaria, Turkey, Georgia, Azerbijian, Caspian Sea, Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan and then into Kazakhstan.
Also rather than attempting the road of bones we rode along the partially made Siberian highway to Vladivostock and then ferry to South Korea and then flight from Seoul to Nth America / Canada / Alaske / Canada / USA > New York City
“The overbearing odor of diesel fuel that permeated the cabin of the aged Toyota Corolla we had just push-started made us reach for the window...
The idea to travel the world on a motorcycle did not 'come out of the blue'. Monica's husband Simon had this dream for 30 years. The...
Daily blog and photos of my trip down the east coast of Africa, London to South Africa in 2010 on my BMW F800GS.
Follow my adventure through Africa.
Read about my travels and meandering thoughts.
I will try and give as much info as possible about road conditions, visas, people and how to plan an overland adventure for rookies like myself.
My wife and I have recently retired so we decided to spend 3 months touring the United States of America. Our plan was to air-freight our BMW 1200GS to Toronto and then try to ride through as many states as possible within the 3 month period, thereby completing a loop of the USA finishing back in Toronto.
The reason we flew to Toronto rather than starting in the US is because we had heard it was much easier to get through customs in Canada than the US and we can confirm it was very straightforward and easy to collect our bike from the Customs in Toronto and also much easier to cross into America via road than airport.
We started a blog to keep family and friends informed of our route but then realised the blog had been forwarded to many people who were regularly following it. Up to now we can see from the Audience section people from Russia, Germany, Australia, Canada as well as the US & UK have been viewing the blog so as I am a regular viewer of the HUBB and enjoy other people's stories, we thought maybe our blog could be of interest to other riders embarking on a first trip to the States.
We have motorcycled in many different countries over the years but always hired BMWs - so this is the first time I have taken my own motorcycle abroad (other than to Europe).
