Motorcycle Travellers Tales content
My trip from Wales to Cape Town starting in April 2015. Blogging my way down.
Two bikes travel from Qualicum Beach, BC, Canada down through US West coast, Mexico, Central and South America to Ushuaia and back up to Santiago de Chile.
Last May, I took my 1973 Honda CB750 from New Albany, OH to San Francisco, CA to Beaufort, SC and then home. I chronicled my journey every day, and finished the details just recently. As more people have asked about my story, I thought I'd build a blog so I can share it with others. Since then, I have become more interested in motorcycle travel and exchanging advice and experiences with other riders.
All about our travels around the world, from our bike-related shenanigans in the years leading up to the trip, short trips, bike mechanics and preparations, to of course the travel stories and photo galleries of the big trip. Starting in London, heading east across Europe, then hopping across to India, where we bought a couple of Indian bikes to whizz around on. And that's just for starters, with updates as the journey continues.
Hi, my name is Anders. I'm a novice biker from Sweden on my first big motorcycle trip and I am attempting to get around Africa on an Africa Twin.
I started 1st of August 2014 and the general route is counterclockwise entering the African continent at the Gibraltar strait. Finish date is open.
On my web site I'm publishing information about border crossings, visas, etc. that can be of interest for other bikers, as well as general updates from the road.
Welcome.
Sierra Victoria is a travel blog documenting the adventures of three motorcycle adventurers through most of México and in and around Guatemala and Belize.
All the posts in the "Travels" and "Roaming the South" sections are places arrived at on Royal Enfield EFI´s.
We love exploring all the amazing sites México has to offer and what better to share our experiences with others.
Even though we realize most of the adventure info found on the web is in english, we decided to write this blog entirely in spanish as a small contribution to googleing anything in español and not finding nearly as much informative sites (or so went our reasoning). But there´s plenty of cool pictures!
Hope you enjoy!
New valves do wonders for the human heart as much as the numerous engines I have worked on. My heart has been physically and strangely metaphorically fixed in the same procedure. I need to make use of this new life I have been given. Sat in hospital for a week, I get strange dreams and ideas.
A vague idea to visit my brother who works in Asia develops into a plan to see more of this little blue planet. I promise my ex father in law to see it through as he stopped by to visit as I recuperate. He’s had chemotherapy that ultimately fails to make it alright for him.
A promise is a promise. I tell everyone I know of my plans and I’m committed. Life is too short. Work agrees to me taking a year out. That bit was easy. The money might be a bit tougher.
Guess I need to put the hours in, this is going to take more than a £10 lottery win.
After overlanding around the world for 8 years, I was almost running out of transport options. That's when I hopped on a BMW650 and decided to ride, along with my more experienced half, from Germany back home to Australia.
I'm more of what one would call an 'incidental biker': traveller first, motorbiker second :)
Follow my tales as we ride the long way east and, occasionally, put up with my ramblings about long-term travel and all it's ups and downs.
This is a blog series of my ride to Marsimik La on my Royal Enfield Thunderbird 350. Situated at a height of 18,953 feet in the mighty Himalayas, Marsimilk La the highest motorable road on the planet. It was quite a challenging ride for me as well as my motorcycle. The lack of oxygen played havoc with us both. Despite all the odds, we both made it. :-)
