If you are reading this, I am warning you to beware of this man known as Mr. Manchanda from Mukesh Motors, Karol Bagh, Delhi. He is a top class cheater and fools foreign nationals by charging them the most highest prices for a two-wheeler.

I was also cheated by this man the same day when I saw a belgian couple who came for a 500 CC bike, he was asking a price of 85000 Indian Rs which was too much for a bike of that condition. Apart from this, if you do a search on the internet, you will see that there have been a lot of complaints against this guy. I have signed up on this site just to let you all know that he is a top class cheater and you should be aware!

Bike shipped was a 300kg BMW R1150 RT. No crate required. I contacted Graham months ahead, and kept up the contact as the time approached.

I thoroughly cleaned bike at home and trailered to Greenfreight at Auckland Airport.

Bike arrived in Brisbane 2 hours after Greenfreight said it would. NOTE: it went to Sydney first and then to Brisbane so there is room for Qantas to change booked flights if room is required for commercial freight.

Clearance in Brisbane was interesting. I phoned Qantas Freight with the airbill number. They updated expected landing info. When i phoned after the landing they said that I could not expect the bike to be available that same day. I asked for the Quantas number in Brisbane and then phoned them direct. They were VERY good, and gave me directions to Qantas freight and said the paperwork would be ready soon. I walked the 10 minutes to QF, waited another 15 for paperwork and then could start the clearance. Walked a km down the road to the AQIS/Customs building (further along Qantas Drive). Customs were very slow in dealing with my Carnet, but even they only took 40 minutes. Then I queued at AQIS for a short time, and they arranged an inspection. Back to QF building, and the inspection went quickly as the bike was very clean. The bike was then released to me. Whole process took 4 hours from bike landing to me riding away.

Greefreight in Auckland know what they are doing. Trust them: but give them lots of warning and only deal with Graham.

Right, here is a detailed break down of the process of shipping our Land Rover (4x4 vehicle 110" wheelbase) from Melbourne to Buenos Aires.

They are very helpful and will explain any costs you may have. We did not use an agent for anything as we had cleared the vehicle into the country ourselves so we understood the process, but if you do this you have to organise your own transport for the container to a place where it can be loaded and transport back to the docks, as it is not possible to stuff a container on the dockside. It's been a while (April 2007, actually) but this went very well, although somewhat more expensive than I'd hoped. I moved to the UK in 1999, bringing my ZG1000/Concours/GTR1000 with me - a large, heavy fully faired touring bike. After driving it all over Europe (including a trip to Russia) I decided it was too big for the UK, but being sentimental, didn't want to sell it, so I shipped it back to the USA where I had a place to keep it.

James Cargo was the best outfit I could find back then, and they did a great job. They came to central London with a van and picked up the bike, plus about half a bike's worth of kit (extra silencers, parts, riding gear.. a lot of stuff) and then took it and crated it, using a leftover BMW wood/cardboard crate.

The whole process took about three weeks. I was kept up-to-date as much as possible but as discussed, ship times can change. As it turned out, the bike arrived pretty much as planned. I was in the US at the time and it cleared the port and Customs in one day. BUT - keep in mind this was a US-made bike, previously registered in the US with an existing US "title" (ownership) document. I suspect a "foreign" bike may have been more problematic and/or required the owner to be present. The US is horrible on emissions (EPA) so you can only "visit" for a limited time with non-compliant (i.e. anything not originally sold in the US) vehicles.

I didn't hav eto do a thing - the bike (crated) was loaded on a local delivery service truck and delivered to me (about 100 miles/160 km from the port) a day or two later.

Give Bradley a call a while in advance, be prepared to spend time at MMA to get the bike measured up, and again to get it onto the pallet.

They did mess up the dangerous goods declaration, which resulted in Virgin Atlantic refusing the shipment at the first attempt, so it arrived a day after I did - hassle. Make sure you check that they do the dangerous goods declaration properly, and all will be fine.
