Exclamation Horizons UK 2010 Meeting is closed for registrations!

Update - as of Friday, registration is closed! We are full! We've had a record number of registrations. This will be the largest event of its kind in the world!

We also have a record number of presentations this year, 86 over the Thurs-Sun, so three presentation rooms will be going non-stop, with repeats of popular presentations!

In case you're worried it will be too crowded, we've made arrangements to accommodate more people, including streaming the evening presentations in the main room to a very large (16 x 16 meter) marquee in the parking lot with a full outdoor 5 meter screen plus sound system and 160 chairs. This will allow the folks who don't fit into the main room to enjoy the presentations outside but under cover!

There will also be lots more toilets, Angela has promised 7 a.m. access to showers and more staff in the pub/restaurant.

The most up to date schedule of presentations will be available at the event when you register, but the almost-final schedule is on the page now if you want to download and print it for your planning ;-)

It's going to be awesome! See you all there!

Grant & Susan

Don't shoot me down in flames but hasn't this meeting got a bit too popular and in danger of losing its original appeal?
Only an observation and I stand ready to be told that I'm so wrong and I'm talking rubbish

Absolutely brilliant! And such fantastic weather. Sounds like its going to be the best HU Meet ever. Gutted I can't be there. Really sad that I'm missing out on this chance to meet up with friends of the road. The HU Meet is still the only place where I know that I am surrounded by like minded people. Love that. Hope everyone has an excellent time. I'm already looking forward to next years Meet

Hi BDG and Chris,
Hope you still made it BDG. I was really looking forward to being there and to catching up with you guys, but I've a great excuse for not making it. I've been tussling with a pretty severe kidney problem for the last couple of years but I had an amazing stroke of luck at the start of June. I really didn't think I was going to be this lucky but a potential match on the transplant list came up for me and the match was good enough for the transplant to go ahead. I still can't believe its happened. I was destined to quite a few years of problems. People on the organ donor list are just the best!

If I can make it through the next few months without it rejecting then I'm really winning. The launch of my new book on the 18th of September at the Ace Cafe is going to be my first day of freedom. Until that time, because the anti rejection drugs knock the immune system, I'm going to be a bit of a hermit. No worries, lots to do and a great reason to be this way. Really missed being at the Meet though. It sounds as if everyone had a brilliant time. Good stuff. Grant, Susan, Glynn and all the volunteers did a fantastic job I hear.

Anyway, hope you did make it. Catch you guys soon.
Cheers,
Sam

Just the one picture from one of the Off-Road rideouts.

Big thanks to Adrian and Alex from the TRF for a great day out. Sara is happily showing off her bent Adventure Spec crash bars and multi-coloured ankle

It was a fantastic Weekend - huge thanks to all the organisers, speakers etc.

It was tough today, heading home.

All I wanted to do was go for the mainland ferry - and just keep traveling...

Great meeting as usual

As usual, a fantastic meet- minus the rain! Great people, presentations and fun. Just one thing- to those people who felt the neet to ride like twats through the camping field and start their bikes outside peoples tents at six a.m., don't come next year!
P.S. Standing on the pegs whilst riding through a dry field in Derbyshire is not really necessary- you know who you are!

Thanks

Just wanted to add my thanks to absolutely everyone involved in organising the weekend, making the presentations and to all those who I met for a chat and/or .

This was my first time at Ripley and it is now a guaranteed annual event in my diary unless I have already acted upon the huge dose of inspiration and have disappeared off over the horizon on my VStrom.

Am now sitting at work and can echo Austin's words on Saturday night that there is just no point trying to explain to people what I did at the weekend, they just wont get it. Cant help telling them how to cook a Squirrel though!

Adrian

Membership - help keep us going!

Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.

You don't have to be a Member to come to an HU meeting, access the website, or ask questions on the HUBB. What you get for your membership contribution is our sincere gratitude, good karma and knowing that you're helping to keep the motorcycle travel dream alive. Contributing Members and Gold Members do get additional features on the HUBB. Here's a list of all the Member benefits on the HUBB.
