From THIS page, you can find details of shipments ALREADY MADE by travellers, both air and sea, so you can plan your own shipment.
For each shipment, the details include Shipping Date, Cost, Shipper Contact details and a Description of the experience, often including very detailed and extremely useful information about the requirements for crating or the paperwork involved at the destination location.

NOTE: This is not our normal view, but Google's API has somehow broken the view with a map and everything nicely laid out. We will fix it as soon as possible, but it's a very big job for us. Any Google API experts feel free to contact us! For now this will have to do, sorry.
Usage: Enter one or more of the fields, as you wish. Blank field means "all". Be sure to use correct country names, e.g. "United Kingdom" not UK or England. Unfortunately "united states" (united states of america doesn't work) gets United Kingdom as well, just work down to the bottom or last page. Not case-sensitive. Results sorted by newest first.

Weighed the bike(360kg),waited a couple of hour's for my carnet to come back stamped-up,strapped the bike(myself)to an air freight pallet, paid THE MAN,and said a BIG thank-you.

Arrived Brisbane, turn left out the terminal, one kilometer walk to Customs-couple of hours wait....
they inspected the bike(without me)satisfied,they returned my stamped-up carnet!Aqis(next counter,same building)paid them,so over the road to Qantas,Aqis did the VERY THOROUGH inspection....but no problem's.
I stepped of the plane 08.30 and was ready to ride at 12.30! Plastic-Fantastic!

Shipment: From Houston, United States to London, United Kingdom - May, 2006
Import Trade Services
10 Harold Lane
Baytown, TX 77521
Phone : (281) 428-5826
Very helpful, quote provided via email and then all we had to do was drop the bike off at a packers approx a week before the boat sailed.
Most importantly, they dealt with all the customs paperwork. We had looked into using a roll-on-roll off ferry but then we would have had to have paid for a separate freight forwarder to deal with all the paperwork which meant more money, hassle and time.
Shipment: From Liezen, Austria to Rio de Janeiro, Brazil - May, 2006
DHL Logistics (Austria) Road Freight, Air & Ocean Freight, Logistics
B
As i asked the price in Austria they told me 450,- US, than they called me again because it was a wooden box and it haves to be gased before leaving to Brasil so that no animals in the wood could stay alive! That rased the price to 650,-US. What was still fine to me and they said that everything is included in the price!
In Rio everything was different and i had to pay a lot again to the Company of DHL to get my papers to release the bike out of the harbour and no one was there from Danzas (DHL) to help, so i had to take an other agency who asked me an other 235,-US after barganing!
His name is
Sylvio
Sacadura Cabral 81
Sala 401
he was not the best, but he will be better now.
After 6 days (including the weekend) and a lot of extracosts who depends as well on the price of the shippment you payed in Europe (25% again will be the Tax and there is the costs in the harbour and an other 4,-US for something) and on my shippingpapers only where written 220,-US, because the rest was for the truck up to Germany and to gas the wooden case!
Anywhere if you ship to Brasil you will have a lot of troubles because you do not have a CPF code (taxnumber)
in Brasil and without that there computer systhem does not work! Everytime you need the big boss and than it is possible if you are there personally with your passport! If you are friendly!!!
I would never ship to Brasil again, it is much easyer to liberate the bike in Argentina!
To the shippingcompany in Austria i have to say that i shipped two times before with them and it was no problem at all! It was before DHL and Danzas got one company.

We didn't use a carnet, instead opting for an Australian Temporary Import Certificate, therefore Australian customs was slightly more tedious, but still straight forward. Malaysia was a breeze! Phoned MAS Kargo on the Monday afternoon and by the following day we were loading the bike onto our own private aluminium air pallet! We flew on the Wednesday morning together with the bike. We didn't use an agent, instead opting to do it ourselves (I'm Scottish, anything to save a $!).
All easy enough, albeit time consuming. MAS Kargo guys were great, even giving us a lift back to our hotel, however they weren't so well versed with Australian quarantine regs. Fortunately we were (thanks HU) and washed the bike thoroughly first and insisted on no supporting wood on the pallet. Recommended for sure.
