From THIS page, you can find details of shipments ALREADY MADE by travellers, both air and sea, so you can plan your own shipment.

For each shipment, the details include Shipping Date, Cost, Shipper Contact details and a Description of the experience, often including very detailed and extremely useful information about the requirements for crating or the paperwork involved at the destination location.

Located at the cargo terminal of Tocumen Airport. The cargo terminal is not at the same place as the passenger terminal; you have to go around the airport to get to it. It's a bit difficult to see, but is next to DHL.

We loaded all bags and gear under bikes on pallet. No windscreen removal, no battery disconnect and supposed to have small amount of fuel, but we had half tank. We just said small amount. We could fit as much gear as we wanted onto pallets.saved us luggage fees at airport. They palletized the bikes, strapped down, cardboard around bike and then plastic wrapped them.pulled in mirrors for them. We saved about $600 over Girag (Note: This was for TWO bikes).

Bogota pick up was easy. The carrier was DHL. Their facility is right at the airport, just tell cab the address. It's a gated facility with other carriers. You go to a main building out front, not DHLbuilding, and give them your driver's license to hold and they give you a security badge to enter the secure area. You walk to the DHL, building and go to second floor to finish pick up paperwork. We had to pay them 75 usd for some carrier cost, unexpected but we didn't question. When we entered the office they knew what we were there for. They said they get about 3 bikes a month coming through their facility. After DHLyou take all your paperwork to the building where you got the security badge, second floor. This is Colombia aduana. Lots of people, shippers of stuff. This office seemed to not often do vehicles. It took a couple hours with them. For some reason Colombia would like to know your destination hotels while in Colombia, we did not have so they wrote up a letter for us to explain. I think that's what took the time. Take the approved paperwork from aduanas back to DHL and they will release motorcycles. We had the whole warehouse come watch the unpacking of motorcycles, they acted like they never see them, not sure why. They have a makeshift ramp you ride down to get off the loading dock, looked sketchy but wasn't. DHL takes care of all the crate and plastic packing. Just un-crate and ride away, show paperwork to guards at gate, return badges as we, so you can get your license back. It went smooth and was simple enough.

Suraj has a lot of mixed reviews online. I was very cautious of him as a result and slightly paranoid about everything he offered, but it all seemed to check out. Price seemed about right to get the bike to where I wanted, and he took care of everything on the customs and legal side (that's what you pay for).

My bike was 140 kg + gear + crate, which totalled about 250 kg.

The measurements for the crate were slightly off but we got it in ok, and the bike arrived a couple of days later in KL, having first flown to Bangkok. Note that I didn't have to do anything for the bike in Bangkok, it came straight to KL as far as I was concerned.

Be aware that when the bike arrives in KL you will have to go to MasKargo at the airport to claim it. This can take a long time as there are various security procedures and long distances to walk since you don't have your bike yet! The first 30 hours of storage is free but from 30 hours to 72 hours there is a holding charge of RM0.30/kg/day, which increases to RM1/kg/day after 72 hours.

Please dont even try to find these guys!

 

PLEASE DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY. THEY WILL NOT HELP YOU TO GET THE BEST SHIPPING COST. They just tell you what you need to know at that moment (even if you ask for more), and then they would take advantage of you when you need to progress with your shipping further. 

 

I have been recommended to use Aztec Logistics. At that time they looked the cheapest and with certain experience of bikes shipping. While talking to them all looked okish. The first problem came when they started packing my bike. When a "carpenter" showed up I started to have doubts. As soon as the carpenter started working I knew it is going to be very bad. After 2 hours I could not watch the guy anymore so I started to tell him what to do. It did not take long and he run out of wood and took him another hour to get more. If I had more time I would tell them to do crating again with proper material and tools, but the next day I was already leaving Dubai so the crating had to be done that day. At the end of the day we created a crate for my bike. It was very bad crate but it was serving the purpose of protection. They charged ubelieveable $350 for it.

 

Another big problem with this company is that they tell you they are responsible for shipping of the bike on Dubai side only and that they have no control over the Mumbai side. This is the biggest lie ever. They have ultimate control over the charges in Mumbai by chosing a shipping lane that will do the shipping for them (I believe they share the proffit).

 

The shipping lane in Mumbai should take care of everything from offloading to storage. The one that AZTEC using is charging $300 for 4 days of storage; $80 for curency adjustment fee; $40 for some other unspecified currency charge. It is total joke. At that poit you have to pay whatever they tell you because they have your bike and they can charge you much more for aditional storage. 

 

I had to hire an agent to do the clerance for me. Even for a local company it took them couple of days to do the clerance. The company I was using told me that this shipment can be done under $1000 and thet these people were just taking advantage of me. To prove it, I asked them to provide a quote for my friend who was planning to ship his bike from Mumbai to Dubai 4 weeks after me. The quote was under $1000 for little bit bigger bike than mine and they would take care of everything on Dubai as well as Mumbai site.

 

I forgot to mention that the bike was damaged when arrived to Mumbai because the crate was crushed. AZTEC company is saying that the shipping lane should pay. Shipping lane is saying that they are not responsible and it should be the company that was storing the bikes.

 

If you can go for airfreight!!!

The first part of the journey was road freight from Cairns to Brisbane which was included in this cost and arranged by Ivan as well.  Very professional.

Bike was not crated but put in an iron brace and glad wrapped - the bike had no scratches or marks on when arrived.

No problems retrieving my bike at Santiago, FastAir where fantastic, I speak little to no spanish and they were happy to use google translator when needed.

Five guys doing the unwrapping providing me with 3 litres of fuel siphoned from their bikes which they would not allow me to pay for to get to the local petrol station which was within a couple of kilometres.  All paperwork done and on my way within 3 hours.  Be prepared for the guys to jump on your bike to take selfies.

After researching for shipping I came across this company that does both crated and uncrated, US $631 was uncrated. US $330 crated. Was told that it was a two day transit.

I'll try to put a picture of the Dili costs that I have in an e-mail from Alzira who is very helpful.
